Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher
A strong, hard cheese, with a smooth lingering aftertaste and nutty hints.
Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher comes from a dairy farm in the Lincolnshire Wolds where 230 Holstein Friesian cows graze on the open fields to produce milk for this deliciously strong hard cheese, that’s ages for 18 months. Beneath the golden rind of Lincolnshire Poacher lies a cheese not dissimilar to a traditional West Country Cheddar – deep and rich in flavour, with a smooth lingering aftertaste. Our particular Poacher also has a slight nutty hint to give it that little bit of extra special sweetness.
Don’t just take our word for it…
Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher has become hugely popular over the last 25 years and is actually one of the best-selling cheeses in our range.
Pairings – wines, beers, crackers, chutneys…
Forget the wine and crack open a beer with this one! A whole host of our local beers and ales go brilliantly with Vintage Lincolnshire Poacher, but our favourite has to be Othello, a dark ruby ale from the Shakespeare Brewing Company.
