An odd number of cheeses work well, we recommend 5 or 7. There needs to be something for everyone... not everybody loves Stinking Bishop, so choose wisely!
Always start with a mild, neutral cheese and work up to the big cheddars or blues.
Mild cheese we love: Wyfe of Bath, Rachel, Ossau Iraty or Mrs Kirkhams Lancashire.
To complement with a creamy soft, we recommend Windrush, Baron Bigod, Eve, Wigmore or Delice de Bourgogne.
For something a little bit out there, why not try a rind washed cheese such as Isle of Avalon, Merry Wyfe, Baronet or Rollright?
Any of the following will wake everyone up post Christmas snooze: Old Winchester, Comté Extra Vieux or Witheridge Hay.
Now for the blues! It’s Christmas and a Colston Bassett Stilton is surely traditional. If you fancy something a bit more unusual, opt for one of these. Blu 61, Sparkenhoe Shropshire Blue, Beauvale or Gorgonzola Dolce.
Whilst all cheeses look amazing on your board, don’t forget the finishing touches. Offer a selection of lovely crackers, plain or flavoured. Add pickles, chutney, panforte, membrillo, truffle honey or maybe some nuts and dried or fresh fruit.
